Record-breaking runner Daveson Kyle Narido emerged victoriously after beating four UAAP records and taking home the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the boy’s division in the recently concluded UAAP season 74 track and field tournament.
The sophomore high school student bested in the 1,500m-, 2000m-, 3000m- and 5000m-steeplechase event and savor gold in the 800m- and 5000m- run events.
Together with Robertson Madayag, Blaise Miguel and Steve Miguel, the locals gained silver in the 4×400m relay.
“Magsumikap at huwag susuko,” said the last year’s Rookie of the Year (ROY).
Meanwhile, Lady Warrior Jennyrose Rosales snared this season’s ROY award and secured gold in the 100m, 200m and 400m dash.
Education major Rosales, Irene Gullos, Josephine Mendoza, and Kristina Mae Santos shared the limelight in capturing a silver medal apiece in the 4×400m relay.
UE brought home a total of 35 medals, seven gold, 12 silver and 16 bronze, as the women’s team settle third place overall.
