Pray. Love. Serve.

 Text: 1 Peter 4:7-11

7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.

8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Prediction for 2012: END OF THE WORLD

What are you preparing for? What do you do while waiting?

7 The end of all things is near.

The ‘end’ is not about when, but are we ready?

Ever been excited for the end?

For people who are struggling in this life, they seek for the coming end. Yet, to us Christians, this is an encouragement.

Our model in this life is Christ’s suffering, not for earthly desires but to fulfill the will of God.

Though it is hard to stand for our faith, we should always remember that Christ has already overcome the darkness. And, this remains an encouragement to us: that there is hope through Him who loves us so.

There may be fear, but there is also hope. Our hope is assured even when we face difficulties and pains in this life. God is our unchanging truth and hope.

PRAY

Seek and you shall find.

People keep on searching for God’s will yet do nothing to find it.

In finding His will, it takes courage not to fight physically but spiritually. It takes time to sit down and pray.

At times, God uses time and suffering to make us realize that we need Him in our decisions, viewpoints, and in our life. He wants us to learn that we should consult Him as a Father no matter what circumstances we are in with.

LOVE

We are made to love.

According to the Bible, this should be our attitude of love:

8 …love covers over a multitude of sins.

9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

We should learn that in every detail God unfolds to us, we must put them in action.

Let us live out 1 Corinthians 13 aloud.

Love just how Christ love us.

SERVE

10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

Availability is more important that ability. We should serve through the strength of God in us.

Know your gift and use your gift faithfully for the people, the Church. God gives us gifts which we are unable to do without Him.

Today’s setting reflects suffering. Yet, we shouldn’t fear or be surprised. Instead, rejoice because we are participating in the suffering of Christ.

Even when insulted, never stop from serving. Be overjoyed for God’s glory is revealed.

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.”

Joshua 3:5

CHOOSE GOD and YOU’LL BE OVERJOYED.
